We’re the RNLI – the charity that saves lives at sea. As a face-to-face fundraiser, you’ll be helping thousands of people. You’ll raise vital funds by inspiring new supporters to donate. This will help our lifeboat crews and lifeguards to save every one they can. You will have ambitious targets to meet, and the professional training to help you achieve.
And a face-to-face fundraising job with the RNLI is not just about raising money. You’ll also be sharing advice that will help people stay safe in and by the water. Lives have been saved thanks to advice given out by RNLI face-to-face fundraisers. It really is a unique job.

Your questions, answered
You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate as a RNLI fundraiser which, depending on your role, can range from £12.30 to £14.10 per hour. In the Republic of Ireland this can range from €15.17 per hour to €18.67 per hour.
You’ll be working from a variety of locations, which are mainly outdoors at coastal locations. This could be from exciting events, to RNLI Lifeguarded beaches and Lifeboat stations within your local area.
You don’t need any previous experience as a fundraiser. You’ll be provided with the training as part of our fundraising programme, and all the support to help you feel confident and capable as a RNLI fundraiser.
Yes, many fundraisers progress to Level 2 or Senior fundraisers. There are great opportunities to develop within our Face-to-Face Fundraising teams and within the RNLI if you enjoy the role. We will provide you with all the knowledge and support to grow in confidence and succeed as a fundraiser.
The funds raised through this role will help us to continue our vital Lifesaving work so our crews can continue to save lives. This role is vital in our mission to Save Every One as you will provide key water safety messages to those you engage with, helping to ensure more people stay safe around our coast and near the water.
On a personal level there are many benefits of being a face-to-face fundraiser; every day you'll listen to lots of inspiring and different perspectives and speak to many supporters and those who we have rescued. Within the role you’ll also gain confidence and transferable skills that you will use again and again.
You’ll be helping to raise vital funds for the RNLI inspiring new supporters to donate on a monthly basis. Everyday looks different, from working at RNLI patrolled beaches to many events.

How we’ll support you
Before you start the job, you’ll receive an introduction to fundraising for the RNLI, as well as learning how to start inspiring conversations. You’ll meet the lifeguards and lifeboat crew in your local community, which will help bring the charity to life for you. And you’ll find out when and how to share water safety messages.
We’ll make sure you feel confident and capable before you start the role.We’ll also offer you one-to-one coaching to help you build confidence so that you can reach your full potential.
